Met leden uit het inmiddels ter ziele gegane Hungry Kids of Hungary, Millions en Ex-Panng! wordt Rolls Bayce in thuisland Australië een supergroep genoemd. Hier op onze Hollandse redactievloer doen we dat niet. Niet alleen omdat we enkel Hungry Kids of Hungary een beetje kennen, maar ook omdat we een niet zo happig zijn op de term supergroep. Het schept meteen zulke verwachtingen.
Hoe dan ook, het titelloze debuut EP’tje mag er zijn. Vier liedjes die ergens het midden houden tussen The Shins (liedje On My Own) en Tame Impala (Don’t Get Me Wrong). De PR machine achter de band probeert het als volgt te omschrijven:
A heady concoction of classic pop/rock, 60’s soul and obscure psych, their songs pair deep drum and bass grooves with lithe, spacey guitar. Tightly wound choruses give way to dense jam-outs, the band wringing as much sound from their instruments as three individuals can muster.
